Your Privacy, Our Priority

We are committed to protecting your personal information and respecting your privacy. Learn how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you interact with Edify Coaching.

Edify Coaching Privacy Policy

Sensitive information. Coaching conversations may touch on family relationships, emotional wellbeing, health, or faith. We treat anything of this kind as confidential and use it only to coach you. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website or community hub, we and our providers may collect device and browser type, IP address, approximate location, pages visited, and referring links through cookies and similar tools (see Section 9).

Information from others. We may receive information from a parent enrolling a teen, from a person who refers you, or from platforms you use to reach us (such as a booking or social media tool).

3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to coach you well, run our programs, and keep in touch. We do not sell your personal information.

  • Deliver services: schedule sessions, prepare for coaching, track your progress, and provide course materials
  • Communicate: send confirmations, reminders, program updates, and, if you opt in, newsletters and devotionals
  • Process payments: bill for packages, courses, and events
  • Run our community: operate member spaces and moderate content
  • Improve our work: understand what helps clients and which programs to build next
  • Stay safe and compliant: protect participants, prevent misuse, and meet legal obligations.

Assessments and research. We may combine assessment and survey responses to spot trends, such as the words young adults use to describe life transitions. We use these results only in aggregated, de-identified form. We will never publish your name or identifiable answers without your written permission.

Testimonials. We share a testimonial publicly only with your consent, and you choose whether to use your name, initials, or no name.

Session recordings. We record sessions only with your advance consent, and only to support your coaching or with your permission for training.

4. Confidentiality in Coaching
What you share in coaching stays confidential, with a few limits required by law or safety.

Coaching is not therapy, counselling, or medical care. Edify Coaching is not a healthcare provider, so coaching records are not covered by HIPAA. We still protect them to a similar standard and share them only as this policy describes.

We may break confidentiality only when:

  1. You give us written permission
  2. We believe there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else
  3. We suspect child abuse or neglect, which New Jersey law requires any person to report
  4. A court order, subpoena, or other law requires it

When possible, we will tell you before sharing. If you need support beyond coaching, we may suggest a licensed professional.

Group coaching and community spaces. We ask every participant to keep what others share private, but we cannot guarantee how other members behave. Share in group settings with that in mind.

5. How We Share Information
We share personal information only with people who help us serve you, and only as much as they need. We never sell or rent it.

Each signs a confidentiality agreement and receives access only to the information their work requires. Contractors doing creative work, such as video editing, do not receive coaching notes.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect someone’s safety, or defend our legal rights.

Organizational change. If Edify Coaching merges, reorganizes, or transfers its programs, your information may move to the successor, which must honor this policy.

With your consent. For example, when you ask us to coordinate with a pastor, counselor, or family member.

6. Children and Teens
We coach teens (ages 13–17) only with a parent or legal guardian’s written consent, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

  • Parent consent: A parent or guardian must enroll a teen, sign the coaching agreement, and consent to how we handle the teen’s information.
  • Teen confidentiality: To build trust, we keep the details of a teen’s sessions private from parents by default. We share general progress and themes, and we will always share safety concerns (see Section 4).
  • Parent rights: Parents may review the information they provided, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw consent, which ends the teen’s participation.
  • Community and online spaces: Teens may join only spaces designated for them under our Safeguarding Policy.
  • Children under 13: If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will delete it promptly. Contact us if you believe this has happened.

7. Security, Retention, and International Transfers
We keep your information secure, hold it only as long as needed, and protect it wherever it is processed.

Security. We use access controls, strong passwords with two-factor authentication, encrypted storage and transfer where available, and confidentiality agreements for everyone with access. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.

9. Cookies, Community Platform, and Other Websites
We use a small number of cookies to run our website and understand how it is used, and third-party platforms have their own privacy policies.

  • Cookies: Essential cookies keep the site working. Analytics cookies (such as [e.g. Google Analytics]) show which pages are helpful. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
  • Do Not Track and opt-out signals: We honor recognized opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control, where required by law.
  • Community hub: Our community runs on Mighty Networks. What you post there is visible to other members, and Mighty Networks also processes your data under its own policy.
  • Third-party links: Our site may link to other websites, such as YouVersion devotionals or our church. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

10. Changes and How to Reach Us
We will post any updates here and notify active clients by email before a significant change takes effect.
